Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- sliced almonds for topping optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and honey until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk and mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle with sugar and sliced almonds, if using.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
