Ingredients

  • 1 sirloin steak thinly sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • ½ small sweet pepper finely chopped
  • 1 stalk escallion
  • 2 tsp all purpose
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • sesame seeds for garnish, optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the sirloin steak into thin, bite-sized pieces. Pat the meat dry with paper towels and season with onion, sweet pepper, escallion, all-purpose, salt, and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the low-sodium soy sauce, Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey, and minced garlic to create a honey garlic glaze.
  • Pour half of the honey garlic glaze over the sliced steak, ensuring each piece is coated thoroughly. Set aside the remaining glaze for later use.
  • Allow the steak to marinate for at least 10 minutes. For a more intense flavor, you can marinate it in the refrigerator for up to 1 hour.
  • In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the marinated steak bites to the pan, ensuring they are in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness.
  • While the steak is cooking, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  • Pour the slurry into the reserved honey garlic glaze and whisk until well combined.
  • Once the steak bites are cooked, pour the honey garlic sauce over them in the skillet.
  • Toss the steak bites gently to coat them evenly with the glaze. Continue cooking for an additional minute or until the sauce thickens and coats the steak bites beautifully.
  • Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish the honey garlic steak bites with sesame seeds (optional) for added flavor and visual appeal.
  • Serve the steak bites over a bed of fluffy rice, noodles, or as a standalone appetizer.
