Honey-Roasted Chickpeas Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp cumin ground
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper ground
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey, olive oil, ground cinnamon, ground cumin, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Stir well to form a smooth mixture.
  • Add the drained and rinsed chickpeas to the bowl with the honey and spice mixture. Toss until all the chickpeas are evenly coated.
  • Spread the chickpeas out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are evenly spaced to allow for even roasting.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the chickpeas for about 35-40 minutes, or until they become golden brown and crispy. Make sure to shake the pan or stir the chickpeas every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  • Once the chickpeas are roasted to perfection, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crispier as they cool.
  • Once cooled, transfer the honey-roasted chickpeas to an airtight container for storage or serve immediately. Enjoy as a tasty snack on their own or as a topping for salads, soups, or yogurt.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Note that the chickpeas may lose some of their crispness over time.
