Honey Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup Cairo Apiaries Raw Honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 onion medium
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons all purpose
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Green onions for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and half of the minced garlic.
  • Season the chicken with the minced onion, all-purpose and the other half of the garlic
  • In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the honey sauce mixture and bring it to a boil.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water until dissolved. Add the cornstarch mixture to the sauce in the skillet and stir until thickened.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the thickened sauce and toss to coat.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  • Garnish with green onions if desired.
  • Serve over rice or with your favorite vegetables.
